MoU on Academic Exchange and Research Collaboration has been Signed between BUET and Yokohama National University

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between BUET and Yokohama National University (YNU), Japan has been signed today for academic exchange and research collaboration. Four distinguished visitors from the Department of Civil Enginering of YNU Prof. Dr. Akira Hosoda, Dr. Hiroshi Tamura, Ms. Yu Arima and Dr. Arifa Iffat Zerin came all the way from Japan with copies of MoU signed by the president of YNU Prof. Yuichi Hasebe. Today at 6:00pm, BUET VC Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam signed the MoU on behalf of BUET. The signing of MoU was witnessed by Prof. Dr. Ahsanul Kabir and Prof. Dr. Khan Mahmud Amanat of the Dept. of Civil Engineering as well as Prof. Dr. Mir Tareque Ali and Prof. Dr. M. Rafiqul Islam of the Dept. of Naval Architecture. On behalf of BUET, Prof. Dr. Khan Mahmud Amanat coordinated the whole process of establishing the link between BUET and YNU that culminated through signing of the MoU today. Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills (BSRM) Ltd. sponsored local hospitality for the Japanese visitors. It is expected that the MoU shall open the door for advanced studies, academic exchange and modern research collaboration between these two institutions, which will ultimately be beneficial for both the countries.
